Meeting Notes MM School PTO Meeting #1 

2024-2025 

 Monday, September 23rd

• Grade Point Person for each grade. If you have an idea for a social/community event building event, please bring to your grade point persons attention or to the PTO. Thank you to the Volunteers!

• Kindergarten: Sarah Dougal
• 1st Grade: Delia Curran
• 2^nd Grade:  Mark Sauter
• 3^rd Grade: Danielle Chamberlain
• 4^th Grade: Jaclyn Bennett
• 5^th Grade: Dana Lawson

Recap:

• Ordered t-shirts for all students and teachers (3,800 ordered)
• Kindergarten Meet & Greet – 08/28
• Ice cream Truck Social – 09/03

• Upcoming Events
  • Aiming for one social/community building event per quarter. More information to follow as the dates get closer.
    • First quarter: Candy Wars/Trunk or Treat (October 25 / Rain Date October 27). The grade that brings in the most candy will win a pajama day
      •  Kindness Week (November)
      • Fun Run (November). We will be using the same company as last year for the Fun Run School gets $.51 for each $1.00.
    • Second quarter: TBD (idea’s – bingo, trivia, craft, or movie night)
    • Third quarter:  International Night
    • Fourth quarter:  Red Sox Game. Selling of tickets will start in January 2025

Other Events:

• Enrichment programs booked for the spring
• Teacher appreciation days
• Faculty room stock throughout the year
• Stock of PBIS cart and classroom recess bags
• Breakfast for teachers before Thanksgiving
• Lunch for teachers at Parent Teacher Conferences
• Holiday gifts for teachers
• Teacher Wish Lists
• Outdoor classroom
  

• Communication
  • Facebook pages for each individual graduating class-year were created 
  • The PTO also created a text alert announcement for families that do not have social media
  • PTO Website (merrymountpto.org)
  • Room parents- One per grade
  • School newsletter is emailed but also is available on QPS website. If you are not receiving the newsletter, please check your SPAM. 

• School Online Merchandise Store- Open and ready for orders! You can use the QR code below or visit https://thetshirtpros.com/merrymount_school/shop/home.      Please place your orders at the beginning of November to get it by Christmas. Please let the PTO know if you need different sizes.

• EDI
  • Please help the PTO by answering a 3-question survey. The survey can be found on the PTO website (merrymountpto.org)
  • Please let the PTO know if you would like to help with EDI of if you have an idea

• Financials/Budget Overview.   Currently at $11K.  This total includes the expenses for t-shirts ordered for students/staff and the restock of the teachers lounge. The balance to increase after the fun run.
