Together, we can accomplish more

The PTO is an entirely volunteer-run organization, so we encourage any and all types of involvement–the more the merrier. We understand that people are busy and life is tough for many, but if you can find ways to be involved, our school community will be better for it. Even if your time is extremely limited, there are little ways you can help out.

So what are some of the ways you can be involved? Check out all the suggestions below!

Come to PTO MEETINGS

This is one of the easiest ways to find out what the PTO is up to as well as any volunteer opportunities that might be on the horizon. We welcome all voices and ideas. This year, we are going to try meeting in both in person and through Zoom to try and accommodate more people’s preferences. We’ve also made the decision to meet quarterly rather than monthly to make life easier for everyone.  See the button below for the link to the meeting.

Meetings start at 6:30 unless otherwise specified. 

So when are PTO meetings?

  • Wednesday, September 20th
  • Wednesday, November 15th (*NEW DATE*)
  • Wednesday, January 10th
  • Wednesday, April 3rd
  • Wednesday, June 5th (Final Yearly Wrap-up Meeting)

Donate Time

We are an entirely volunteer-based organization, so we we can use all the help we can get!  There are so many ways in which you can volunteer your time and energy even if you don’t have much of either.  There is a range of volunteer positions and commitment levels with some positions that require more face-time and others that are more behind-the-scenes.  No matter how large or small a role you choose to play, you are always welcome (and encouraged) to attend our monthly meetings to stay informed, voice your opinions, and remain connected to the Merrymount School community.

Donate Money

There are no dues to pay, and because our PTO is not affiliated with a dues-based national organization, all of the fundraising money collected helps fund PTO initiatives that directly benefit our children. We raise funds to support student enrichment initiatives, foster communication between home and school, hold family-based activities throughout the year, and supply teachers with needed materials and resources – all to provide our children with the best educational experience possible.

Currently, we do not have a direct payment option in Paypal; however, there are 3 ways you can donate money directly to the PTO. They are as follows: 

  • Cash, of course
  • Checks made out to the Merrymount PTO
  • Payments made through Venmo at @merrymount-PTO

Donate Your Old Clothes!

♻️ Merrymount Elementary School has a textile bin at the rear of the parking lot. Donations are always welcome (clothes, bags, belts, linens, shoes, curtains, blankets, towels, sox etc). This is an ongoing fundraiser where our school earns money per donation pounds. It’s a win/win/win! You get to clear out space in your house, support the school, AND help out the environment all in one clothing donation.
