Together, we can accomplish more.

The PTO is an entirely volunteer-run organization, so we encourage any and all types of involvement–the more the merrier. We understand that people are busy and life is tough for many, but if you can find ways to be involved, our school community will be better for it. Even if your time is extremely limited, there are little ways you can help out.

So what are some of the ways you can be involved? Check out all the suggestions below!

Come to PTO Meetings

This is one of the easiest ways to find out what the PTO is up to as well as any volunteer opportunities that might be on the horizon. We welcome all voices and ideas. This year, we’ve made the decision to meet 3 times rather than monthly to make life easier for everyone. We will post regular minutes from our board meetings to let everyone know what’s been happening and what’s coming up, though, so look for those here in our PTO News tab, and on the Facebook page and school S’more newsletter.  

Meetings start at 6:00 and will take place in the MM Media Center unless otherwise specified. 

So when are PTO meetings?

  • Monday, September 23rd
  • Monday, January 13th
  • Monday, June 2nd (Final Yearly Wrap-up Meeting)

Donate Time

We are an entirely volunteer-based organization, so we we can use all the help we can get!  There are so many ways in which you can volunteer your time and energy even if you don’t have much of either.  There is a range of volunteer positions and commitment levels with some positions that require more face-time and others that are more behind-the-scenes.  No matter how large or small a role you choose to play, you are always welcome (and encouraged) to attend our monthly meetings to stay informed, voice your opinions, and remain connected to the Merrymount School community.

Looking to be even more involved? 

We are currently looking for parent volunteers to either be the liaison or a committee member for the EDI Committee, the Outdoor Classroom Committee, and the Community Outreach/Social Initiatives Committee.

Donate Money

There are no dues to pay, and because our PTO is not affiliated with a dues-based national organization, all of the fundraising money collected helps fund PTO initiatives that directly benefit our children. We raise funds to support student enrichment initiatives, foster communication between home and school, hold family-based activities throughout the year, and supply teachers with needed materials and resources – all to provide our children with the best educational experience possible.

Generally, there are 3 ways you can donate money directly to the PTO. They are as follows: 

  • Cash, of course
  • Checks made out to the Merrymount PTO
  • Payments made through Venmo at @merrymount-PTO

Donate Your Old Clothes!

♻️ Merrymount Elementary School has a textile bin at the rear of the parking lot. Donations are always welcome (clothes, bags, belts, linens, shoes, curtains, blankets, towels, sox etc). This is an ongoing fundraiser where our school earns money per donation pounds. It’s a win/win/win! You get to clear out space in your house, support the school, AND help out the environment all in one clothing donation.
